I got some really exciting news this week, and it's something I can't wait to share. As of March, I will be reading submissions for Profane Journal!
Profane is a literary journal that publishes fiction, poetry, and essays. They love work that is centred around the...well...profane. The things we don't normally talk about. As an example, read Michael Chin's "Princess", or Alan Elyshevitz's "Undergraduate". Think work that makes you slightly uncomfortable.
I really can't wait for this opportunity. It's going to be a tough few months - juggling Profane, book reviewing, freelance work AND a day job - but I'm ready for the challenge! And, while I obviously can't guarantee publication, I'd love to have the chance to read your work. Submissions open on the 1st of March, and you can read the guidelines here. I know so many amazing writers who have work that could find a new home with Profane. Get writing!
